Rhythm.
Everything that's emanated from the big bang is a reverberation - an echo of that first original whole note, divided again and again into the life sustaining pulse within each of us - within every living thing. I think of the masters of the Renassaince as the kings of rhythm. To draw from da Vinci, Boticelli, Michelangelo,... is to enter the stream of the pulse of a fundamental essence.
The egg - the elliptical sphere: the embodiment of renewal and continuance, struck me as the ideal form for the re-creation of works which are emblematic of an age of discovery and renewal.
