This
drawing was done from a book of extraordinary photographs by Frank Hupka of
Micheangelo's Pieta' while it was being prepared for transport to the World's
Fair in Toronto, Canada in 1964. As it resides now in St. Paul's Catherdral
in Rome, behind bulletproof glass and at some distance from the viewer, it's
impossible to closely examine this incredible work. Mr. Hupka's photographs
are as close as most of us can ever hope to come to one of the world's great
masterpieces.
