The figure to Moses' left is Michelangelo's unfinished"Atlas" captive, so called for the large mass of uncarved stone held above the shoulders of the figure. I brought these "unfinished" captives (another on the opposite side) together with the figure of Moses, to theorize a simplified version of what might have been Michelangelo's vision for the tomb of Pope Julius II. To invision what were originally intended to be brought together but never were, to see how they would interplay and coexist.
