This
painting started out comprised of several small figures and was oriented horizontaly.
The figures were based on small clay models I had sculpted and arranged specifically
for a series of paintings I was preparing for a show. My idea was to use the
clay models as a guide, a three dimensional presence that I could manipulate
and compose however I saw fit. This
one wanted to move in another direction, so I set it on it's ear so to speak,
began again, and this is were we arrived.
